CBAP® Exam Certification Eligibility and Requirements

Are you looking to achieve a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) certification? The following information may assist to decide your eligibility.

CBAP® Certification Eligibility

  1. Complete a minimum of 7,500 hours of Business Analysis Work experience in the last 10 years.

  2. Within this experience, a minimum of 900 hours completed in 4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas, for a total of at least 3,600 of the required 7,500 total.

  3. Complete a minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development in the last 4 years.

  4. Provide two references.

  5. Agree to IIBA Code of Conduct.

  6. Agree to IIBA Terms and Conditions.

  7. Schedule and pass the exam.

The CBAP® certification is for:

  1. Individuals with significant experience in business analysis.

  2. Individuals with a CCBA™ designation. Please note: If you do not have CCBA™ designation then you may still opt for CBAP® provided you meet the eligibility criteria.

  3. Product Managers.

  4. Non-BA consultants.

  5. Trainers.

  6. Hybrid Business Analysis professionals, including Project Manager, Testers, Quality Assurance (QA) professionals, Change/Transformation Managers, and Designers.
